Alex Sutton aka “Xela” is a Musician, Record Producer, Mixing and Mastering Engineer and Composer originally from Minneapolis, MN.
After graduating from Berklee College Of Music in Boston, Spending time in Los Angles, New York and Minnesota, Xela has found himself in a number of different musical situations. Working on albums with Grammy award winning artists Anthony Ramos (Hamilton), Cynthia Erivo (The Color Purple) and Jasmine Cephas-Jones (Hamilton) and of course, close friend and collaborator Kevin Garrett (Lemonade).
Furthermore, he has kept busy working on Major and Indie records alike such as Miley Cyrus’s, Endless Summer Vacation, contributing chords and production for the Track “Island”. Co-Producing No Rome’s debut album “It’s All Smiles” along side BJ Burton (Bon Iver The Japanese House), George Daniel (The 1975) Sachi DiSerafino (Joy Again) and Rome, Released on Dirty Hit Records.
Alongside production Sutton has managed to maintain his love for playing music live both in the studio, and on the road. Touring and gigging with Anthony Ramos, J.P. Saxe, Jasmine Cephas Jones and Cynthia Erivo as well as playing in broadcasts for networks like EPSN, Disney and Warner Brothers. For shows such as The Heisman Trophy Award Show, Dick Clarks Rocking Eve, Ellen, Late Late Show and more.
With a degree in Electronic Production and Sound Design, Alex is trained in the practices and concepts of Mixing and Mastering. Post degree, find work mixing and mastering records for Daniel Platzman of Imagine Dragons, Cynthia Erivo, Kevin Garrett and more.
